LEADERSHIP CAMP FOR GIRLS


G.U.P.S.THIRUVAZHIYAD.
PANCHAYAT LEVEL 2 DAY LEADERSHIP CAMP FOR GIRLS OF  6TH ,7TH & 8TH STANDARDS.
AYALUR  GRAMA PANCHAYAT   2011 – 2012. 13TH & 14TH OF JAN.2012.

The two day camp for empowering the girls and making them bold to face the life, was inaugurated by Ayalur Grama Panchayat  President  Mrs. Geetha Rajendran. The function was presided over by Mr.K. Kannanunni , Ayalur grama panchayat Vice President. Mr.N. Muarleedharan , H.M. welcomed all. Our ward member Mrs.Rajani and the P.T.A. President Mr.K. Suresh Kumar felicitated and Mrs.V.K.Padmaja devi, Teacher, expressed vote of thanks.

The programme started at 10 am. on 13th Jan.2012. 50 girls from various schools of Ayalur Grama Panchayat participated in the programme. Thanks to the participants of St.thomas U.P.S. Kairady,G.U.P.S. Ayalur,S.M.H.S. Ayalur and the teachers who accompanied them.

Session . I

Deep discussion and debate regarding the use of different things used for make up. The class was led by the teachers Padmaja devi, Jayalakshmi and Sheeba. Girls participated actively and arrived at the conclusion that natural materials are apt for all and due to lack of time we are using artificial make up materials to make us pretty. All changed their minds to go back to nature.

Session . II

Second session was led by Mr.B.C.Mohanan, H.M.  GLPS. Kairady  and  Mr. Cheramangalam Chamunni. They tried to take out the innate abilities of the children through the preparation and presentation of skit and drama. It was really an interesting session and all enjoyed well. We wondered to see the ideas and performance of the girls. 

Session III.

We concluded the first day with a detailed review. All wrote and presented their views. It was their first experience to express their needs and likes. They presented different views.

II DAY    14TH JAN. 2012.

Session IV.

The second day started at 9.30 am. and the session was led by Mr.Jayakumar & Sister Amala, teachers of St.Thomas U.P.S. Kairady.  They conducted activities for the development of  UNITY and CO-OPERATIVE mentality. The girls really enjoyed the task.

Session . V

“ JUST A MINUTE “  programme was conducted to improve the word power and speaking skill of the kids. It was like a game and was very interesting. Mrs. Liji, Mrs.Catherine and Mrs. Padmajadevi  supported the activity.

Session VI

The most important session of this camp was the presentation of Mrs.Priya, I.E.D.C. Councilor from Malampuzha. She shared all aspects of problems of teenagers. Madam advised the girls how to deal with people in different situations. The girls also asked a number of questions.  The session was very suitable to the girls of this age.

Session . VII

To make the upcoming generation aware of the importance of  our mother tongue “MALAYALAM “ the high school teachers conducted an activity to express one’s view in Malayalam only. It was like a reality show. Prizes were distributed to the winners. All are eager to test their Malayalam.

Session VIII.

Here comes the concluding activity of the 2 day camp. Along with the children, teachers also came forward to express their happiness, satisfaction and gratitude in conducting such a camp in our school. Children said good bye with tears.  All are looking forward for another camp like this. They shared address, phone numbers to continue their friendship. 

            Enough food was supplied to the children in correct intervals. They enjoyed the meals in the company of new friends. Thanks to all teachers who took charge of various duties to make this camp a successful one. Thanks to P.T.A. members who came up with all support and help.
